Growing up in Houston, Leland Putterman never thought about entering the technology field. Even while studying at Princeton, he only took one computer science course. Despite his lukewarm interest up to that point, Putterman launched a career in technology after college and has not looked back since.
Starting off at IBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM) in Houston, Putterman moved on to Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) and BMC Software Inc. (Nasdaq: BMC) before becoming CEO of Houston’s Acorn Systems Inc., a profitability management software company.
