HOUSTON, TX, Dec. 16, 2008 — Acorn, the preeminent resource for cost and profitability management software solutions, has promoted Jerome Patterson to chief marketing officer. Patterson, who boasts 15 years of high-tech experience delivering strategic solutions to enterprise clients, has played a strategic role in the Acorn brand's growth since joining the company in 2003. Acorn CEO Leland Putterman made the announcement.

As chief marketing officer, Patterson is responsible for the design and execution of the company's global marketing programs—including branding, corporate communications, marketing communications, product marketing, Web marketing, sales training & development, sales support, strategic alliances support, demand generation and analyst relations. Since joining Acorn to manage the Charles Schwab account and lead Acorn's expansion in the Financial Services sector, he has held senior management roles spanning sales, business development, marketing, and sales operations. He was most recently senior vice president, sales operations.
Prior to Acorn, Patterson led sales, marketing, alliances, services and support at Houston-based Paymetric, Inc., during a period when the company was consistently at the top of the Fast Tech 50 for revenue growth. While there, he secured nearly 100 Fortune 1000 clients and was an inaugural winner of the SAP Pinnacle Award. He previously worked for IT outsourcing service provider Bluestar Solutions, Inc., California; leading IT services company Computer Sciences Corporation, Houston; and Andersen Consulting, Dallas.
Patterson earned a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College.
