Acorn Systems Delivers Enterprise Class Profit Management With New Version of Profit Analyzer

Profit Analyzer v3.0 features faster reporting, Web-based interface, increased scalability

Houston, TX — December 18, 2001 — Acorn Systems, the leader in profit management solutions, announced today the release of Version 3.0 of its Profit Analyzer, a software tool designed to offer detailed operating profitability breakdown of specific customers, orders, products and vendors. With this new release, Acorn continues to deliver on its vision of providing a complete enterprise solution for businesses to measure, optimize and predict net operating profits, giving customers the information they need to take actions that will maximize their profits.

"Profit Analyzer v3.0 delivers on the promise of bringing profit information to employees on the front lines, giving companies the ability to democratize decision making with clear understanding of the profit impact at all levels," said Leland Putterman, CEO of Acorn Systems. "Profit Analyzer v3.0 provides information that enables companies to determine where they are making and losing money by presenting a unique and detailed view of net operating profits by customer, product, order and vendor. This information enables our customers to make changes to their business that can dramatically increase their profitability."

"With enterprise-class scalability and multidimensional reporting capabilities, Profit Analyzer v3.0 is a powerful tool that enables us to take specific actions to increase our profitability," said Pete Algero, Controller of Conco Food Service, a New Orleans, Louisiana-based Food Distributor. "With such accurate information, we renegotiated contracts with several customers and improved our order and shipping methods to add significant dollars to the bottom line."

Profit Analyzer 3.0 offers enterprise capabilities, including a Web-based interface, increased scalability that supports terabyte-sized models and role-based security that permits corresponding access to data based on need and authorization.

"With multidimensional reporting capabilities, Profit Analyzer v3.0 determines not just that a customer, order or product is profitable or unprofitable, but also answers the questions of how and why it is making or losing money," said Joseph Morris, Chief Technology Officer of Acorn Systems. "The performance, scalability and security of version 3.0 means that Acorn Systems has the technology to bring its unique and powerful profit analysis and profit optimization engines to bear for any company – regardless of size or complexity."

Version 3.0 also streamlines the process of analyzing data and includes faster reporting through a Web-based reporting solution from Actuate Corporation. The tool also provides: report scheduling, so critical information is ready when customers need it; report security, so customers can control who runs reports and how the data is disseminated; and flexibility through its Report Designer that makes customizing simple. Companies can develop their analysis models faster and maintain and update them with ease.

Profit Analyzer v3.0 is part of the Acorn Systems family of enterprise profit management tools that includes the recently released Profit Optimizer for Orders, a real-time profitability tool used at the quote and order level utilizing the data in Profit Analyzer.
