Sarbanes Oxley Act Compliance

The Sarbanes-Oxley Act is proving to be a huge distraction for company executives as they struggle to ascertain the impact of its requirements and meet the corresponding deadlines for compliance. While much of the act addresses issues of corporate governance and audit requirements, some of the sections have implications that will affect the way a company does business. However, companies who are considering or are in the process of implementing an advanced analytical costing solution can better comply with sections 404 and 409 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act while deriving business value from their costing system. This paper outlines how companies might satisfy three key requirements, complete with examples using Acorn’s Enterprise Profit System platform as basis for the solutions. Companies can leverage this approach to turn a regulatory cost into a business gain that generates more value over time.
